Matty S- my heart was broken when during a pre-game interview last year, Bird basically divorces himself from the Celtics and his golden age of league dominance. You gotta understand the guy is such a competitor, he gets pissed off if his son swipes the salt before he uses it at the dinner table.

Danny D - I had a feeling Cassel was going to turn in a performance like he did this weekend. I have a lot of respect for that kid, and think he’ll be sick as the Lions starting Qb next year. Does the D stand for Deckchair? If so, I saw that movie when you tied a bunch of balloons to your deckchair and floated to New Zealand. Very VERY realistic.

Hey Rac what a shame Bird is these days. He couldn’t just go out on top in our minds, he had to become a grizzled jerk who pretty much denounces his legacy here. Am I wrong? I might be wrong but still, it’s hard to associate him these days with the Larry Legend of old ya know?

I think it’s only fair that the opposition carry switchblades to intimidate Paul in the final 2 minutes of a game- level the playing field a little, right???

….so just a follow up to my Celtics comment. Pierce ends up draining a 3 to tie the game and naturally our boys win in OT. Shame on me for casting doubt on this team while time remained on the clock.
